Our estate has been in the family for 4 generations
The wine estate was created in 1955 by my grandparents, René and Marguerite SCHNEIDER.
They began bottling wine at the estate in 1972. In 1980, my parents Bernard and Françoise SCHNEIDER added their own contribution to the estate by making significant improvements to the winery infrastructure (modernisation of the cellar, machinery, etc.) and building up a loyal customer base. The family business grew from 3 hectares of vines in the early days to more than a dozen. But we mustn't forget my great-grandparents (from the BOHN, GRANDJEAN, GIRARDIN and SCHNEIDER families from Ammerschwihr) who were already committed winegrowers, selling only bulk wines to the local wine trade.
Today, I'm carrying on their know-how and ushering in a new era. The AMALRIC brand was born. From now on, you can choose between two worlds:
- SCHNEIDER BERNARD, the entry-level range of traditional wines
- AMALRIC, specific and top-of-the-range wines
The wines are all vinified using the old method (static settling, indigenous yeasts, etc.) but with all the comforts of modern technology. The grapes are harvested 100% by hand. The cellar is fully equipped with a pneumatic press, temperature-controlled vinification, 12-spout filler, washer/dryer, self-adhesive labeller, etc. to guarantee you quality wines. We look forward to seeing you soon for some great wine tasting!
Cdt, Patricia SCHNEIDER

Our philosophy
As an independent winegrower in Alsace, we :
- - Cultivate, vinify and market our own harvest, which allows us to control our production from A to Z in order to produce fine quality wines.
- - We practise integrated vinegrowing and our vines are grassed, with special care taken under the rows.
- - We harvest our grapes when they are fully ripe, exclusively by hand, and we monitor fermentation temperatures daily.
- - We pay great attention to the raw materials.
- - We produce all seven Alsatian grape varieties, including the oldest, Chasselas, as well as the famous Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, our Crémants d'Alsace Brut, Rosé and Blanc de Noirs, our eaux de vie, magnums and grape juices.

Ammerschwihr, city of wine
The Domaine is located in Ammerschwihr on the famous Alsace wine route.
It's one of the most charming villages in Alsace!
During your visit to the Domaine, take the opportunity to wander through the cobbled streets of the old town and discover Ammerschwihr's historic heritage with its remains: the bourgeois tower, the rascal tower, the high gate, the Saint-Wendelin chapel, the Saint-Martin church, the half-timbered houses, etc.
